THE INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEAN UP DAY

 

"The International Coastal Cleanup began more than 30 years ago, when communities rallied together with the common goal of collecting and documenting the trash littering their coastline. The movement was catalyzed by the passion and spirit of two committed individuals."

 

“We take our commitment to environmental sustainability seriously, and our support of The Ocean Cleanup is the latest example of that,” said Alicia Procello, vice president, CSR, and president of the the Avery Dennison Foundation. “Years of research and dedication have enabled The Ocean Cleanup to innovate a solution that’s the first of its kind, and we are thrilled to support them in this endeavor.”
Awareness is key. While we applaud the short-term benefits of a beach cleanup, for us, the bigger value they have is in bringing awareness to the topic, as we find that once people are informed, they will change and become part of the solution. Plastic Oceans International will continue to push the global movement to rethink how we use and manage plastic. We are actively orchestrating plastic reduction initiatives and also shining the light on those that are making the effort to create a true wave of change.

Rác - đặc biệt là rác thải nhựa luôn là một nỗi lo lớn trong cuộc sống hiện đại và đang đe doạ rất lớn đến sức khoẻ con người. Một trong những lý do mà những bờ biển ngày càng ngập tràn rác thải là những hành động thiếu ý thức từ những người xả rác. Qua hoạt động dọn rác làm sạch này, chúng tôi mong rằng sẽ giúp mỗi cá nhân tự nhận thức lại trách nhiệm của bản thân mình với tự nhiên, qua đó lan toả hành động này đến với cộng đồng. Nếu mỗi người trong chúng ta xem việc giữ gìn về sinh môi trường không phải là trách nhiệm của Ai-đó-khác-mình thì chắc chắn rằng môi trường tự nhiên của chúng ta sẽ bớt đi nhiều "nỗi đau".
